What Started Out As a 90-Day Challenge & Self-Guided Study, Transitioned into a Lifestyle; 5 Years Later 🌿💪🏾😤

As we close out the month of July, I can’t go without posting about this month being my 5th year anniversary of being plantbased 🌿🎉🙌🏾
.
I initially started out as a raw vegan for a little over 90 days straight, curious to see how much plants really affected my weight loss, strength, energy, and my oh so stubborn visceral fat that I could not seem to lose, despite the endless core workouts, weights lifted, and miles of running that I did.
.
Just by changing my diet, and only my diet, to raw fruits and vegetables and lots of water, while keeping my same workout, I lost approximately 12 lbs in just my first week. Yes, 12 lbs in just 1 week! 😳 👈🏾 That was my facial reaction too.

Throughout the journey, I can’t say that I was the most happy person as I woke up every morning with an attitude at first, simply because I was flat out hungry 😩, craving sweets and more food, especially in the heart of summer where there were BBQs, picnics, and family reunions almost everyday. But that’s when my discipline and dedication kicked in, allowing me to overcome those food temptations.

The picture you see above, is me at the completion of the 90 day challenge, after losing 30 lbs, and with a body fat percentage of about 7 percent. Yes, I went to the extreme, but that’s what I wanted to do to learn about the benefits of eating healthfully, first hand. Something that I can speak from experience, and to someday, offer my professional advice to those who are interested in losing weight too.

I’ve learned so much from that 90-Day journey, but felt like I had so much more to do and learn. I wanted to learn more about dieting, meal planning, and learning some new recipes so that I could share them with people and give them a professionally guided experience of how to transition to a healthier lifestyle. That is why I created my meal plans and recipe collections based on my experience. Besides, if you look at the picture, you’ll see that the proof is in the pudding… or in this case, the proof is in the plants 🌱
